Top Tattoos Gallery 2011 For Women
A number of researches tell that more women go for a tattoo than men. Some tattoo designers are of the opinion that women are stronger than men when it comes to tattooing. Men initially pose very strong and tough before the process starts but when the needles touch their skin some of them collapse. On the other hand women have a higher level of tolerance and can withstand the pain.
Men are not as style conscious as women. Men generally select a design and select any place on their body and just get their tattoos done. Women on the other hand are choosier about what kind of tattoo they want, what their exact design and color should be and exactly which part of their body the tattoo would adorn.
Women normally get tattoos when they go through some major emotion change. A life changing incident often pushes a woman to get a tattoo done making that tattoo a mark of that incident. One of the most frequent reasons used by women to get a tattoo done is that they have divorced their husbands or they have broken up with their boyfriend. Apart from these two major reasons the other life changing incidents for which women get tattoos are marriage, or childbirth or loss of a loved one.
The practice of women getting a tattoo for some emotional change is not new. It’s going on since thousands of years. Earlier it was thought that if a woman can not tolerate the pain of tattooing then she will definitely not be able to stand the pain of childbirth.
The Tribal Tattoo Art
Tribal tattoos are generally influenced by tribal art from native and indigenous tribes. The tribal tattoo art comes from the older tribes such as the Celtics (Ireland, Scotland, & Wales), the Maori Tribe (indigenous people of New Zealand), the North American Tribal, the African Tribal, the Marquesan (Polynesian inhabitants of the Marquises Islands) and the tribes of Borneo.
Celtic Tattoo Art
Celtic tattoo art come from Ireland. Celtic knot tattoos are some of the most popular and most common designs, featuring loops with no end that symbolize a never ending cycle of dying and rebirth. There are also Celtic cross and animal tattoo designs as well
Maori Tribal tattoo Art
The Maori, the aborigines of New Zealand, call their tribal tattoo “Moko” and Mori art is incredible to behold. To the Maori, a person’s Moko designs enhanced their prestige and show transition from one social status to another. At its highest level, Moko designs proclaimed the sacredness of chieftainship.
North American Tribal Art
There are many Indian tribes in North America and many different traditions for tribal tattooing. It was very common for tattoos to denote rank within the tribe. Take the Illinois Indians for example. It was quite common for weapons of war to be tattooed upon the men and it is suggested by some that the women received tattoos of tools used for labor. The tools of war outranked the tools of labor. This was, to the best of my knowledge, their tradition. They seemingly kept their practices to a minimum.
Tribal Arm Tattoos in the Modern World
The very name tribal arm tattoos tells you something about these designs. They are very ancient. Many people of Celtic origin are unaware that this kind of arm tattoos played a very important role in the traditions of the ancient Celtic tribes. In fact, this was true of many other very old societies such as Japanese, Maori and African. The tribal arm tattoos and other body tattoos all had a specific meaning. Some of the meanings were spiritual and some showed which clan you belonged to.
In today’s modern world tattoos are worn by both men and women. Tribal art has survived up to this day because the designs are so attractive. For example, Celtic tribal tattoos are popular. These designs are usually very complex. For this reason it’s important that you only go to a tattooist who is highly experienced. Celtic tribal tattoos are famous for their interlinking swirls. The whole objective of this design is that it appears to be never ending. The arm tattoos are meant to symbolize love or a relationship that has no ending.
Even if you are not in love with a specific person you can wear Celtic tribal arm tattoos just because you admire the design. If you don’t want Celtic then why not take a look at Maori tribal tattoos? The Maori are well known for a culture that has kept its tattooing skills. Tattoo is so accepted and such an important part of their tribal culture that men and women are even tattooed on their faces. These are repeating sweeping swirls and are also perfect for tattoos on the arm. There are many people who are finding it a lot easier to connect to their ancestral roots by means of wearing tattoos
